My plan for tonight’s post was trumped – and not by a badly-coiffed political wannabe (now de facto willbee). So – what you see in the photo to the right is the “destruction” booklet for collecting and submitting my DNA sample to Ancestry.com.
I have to admit that I had an entirely different topic for tonight’s musings – something about beginnings being endings in reverse – terribly deep I am sure! Then Rick handed me this plastic wrapped box. There was a totally girly squeal that came from somewhere in our apartment (pretty sure it was me as I have never heard Rick do anything close to a squeal – he’s more of a grunt and groan sort of guy – and this train of thought has once again left the tracks—where’s a conductor when you need one).
After having seen my friend Jessie’s results (Samantha – it will totally crack you up!) I was a bit curious and so I waited until there was a dip in the price and then WHAMMO I sent away for it. So – I now have to come up with 14 gallons of saliva for a gi-normous collection tube (okay it is really – maybe 2” tops) and submit it to the USPS for the long trek to and from the lab. Wait a second … I am trusting my genetic sample and results to the USPS … I’m getting nervous again… or it could be the Benadryl.
So – ummm tomorrow I promise a less frenetic, non-trumped post. Until then I’ll be sitting here trying to figure out how to get all that saliva . . .
